Learn and Play New Sports

Most of us CrossFitters adhere to the diet and exercise portion of the World Class Fitness in 100 Words pretty well, but how many of us ‘regularly learn and play new sports?’ Dutch Lowy makes it a point to differentiate between someone who is fit from someone who is an athlete. Deadlifting twice your body weight and throwing a ball with coordination and accuracy may be two different things, but they are both components of the 10 Fitness Domains: Cardiorespiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
Don’t pigeonhole yourself into just being a CrossFitter who crushes WODs in the box week after week. Put your fitness to the test and try a new sport this weekend, be it basketball, frisbee, bungee jumping, or kayaking, and see if you can bridge the gap between fitness with athleticism.
