Why You Got Fat
Categories: Nutrition

Don’t let the post title fool you, I’m not making a reference to the This Is Why You’re Fat website. (Granted, I did borrow the shot above aaaaand I do check it out every so often to see the monstrosities posted… so sue me, it’s entertaining!)
Many of the clients we see come to CrossFit in an attempt to “lose weight”, which typically means the person wants to shed bodyfat. But how did they get that way in the first place? If you were curious–some may say foolish–enough to ask me about nutrition, I may have lulled you to sleep with talk of insulin sensitivity, the glycemic index and glucagon. My apologies, since I read about this stuff on a regular basis I start to assume people know what the heck I’m talking about or have read the same items. I found a clip from the movie Fat Head which breaks down the topic of insulin sensitivity to layman’s terms. While I haven’t seen the movie as of yet, I hope to get a copy soon. Check the video out and you’ll get an idea of why Ruth and I preach about eating more Paleo. It’s a surefire way to restore your insulin sensitivity.
