Thanks to Al Viquez and Cutting Edge CrossFit for posting a useful resource yesterday on rope climbing.  Beastskills.com is an excellent site to learn various gymnastics movements and progressions like handstands, levers, and rope climbs.  Many of you have asked about the various ways to climb the rope, and this video does a very good job at covering the 3 main techniques out there.  Incorporating rope climbing skillwork into your routine will help improve upper body strength, functional grip strength, and help you become more proficient at a valuable, possibly life saving, skill.  There’s currently only one rope hanging at Intrepid, but we plan on getting at least 2 more, so I’m no psychic or anything but I see rope climbs in your future.  Don’t be the dope who can’t climb the rope when it matters most!

Chief!! Ugh!

I hope nobody was practicing their HSPU’s while I was gone!

I did 100 yesterday- unassisted, consecutive. . .

There has been a very quiet, unassuming member of our gym not speaking up about their HSPU prowess. I remember our last WOD with HSPU and out of the corner of my upside down eye, I believe I remember Michael doing the WOD RX with no problem…

Good observation Drew, and it also should be noted that I’ve seen Mike quietly working on his HSPU on a regular basis.

@Anna, I think we’re gonna have to team up and do something about Game Face Drew. He’s the guy to beat, especially after seeing him chalking out his hand positions on the ground.

BTW, after reading the post from the 25th and 26th, we had head to California Fish Grill last night, halibut cajun style w/ sweet potato fries was lovely, but was lovelier after pairing it with a fine glass of water

Hahaha! Nothing better than a fine glass of water, perhaps with a twist of organic grass-fed lemon? ;-) I think Mike’s just trying to change the subject and distract us from his HSPU prowess as well. Speaking of prowess, Steph and Mike were cranking out some sick unbroken dubs yesterday. Rematch of Dub Challenge coming up sometime late this year!!! HSPU challenge will take place Friday and Saturday this week, with an option to do it Thursday if you will be out of town over the weekend.
