It Takes a Village

Tomorrow, our very own Viv (“Muscles”) has put together an event at Charles Hopper Park in Lawndale (4418 W 162nd St) from 10am-1pm celebrating and creating something that we at CFI know well: community. It’s a pristine darling park set in an urban jungle and we have been asked to present ‘fitness’ workshops in the park where we will guide people through makeshift WODs utilizing what the park has to offer.
If any of you are free, come on down to help demo, coach, and cheer on any of the participants. We’ll be playing leap frog, performing CrossFit Limbo, doing burpees in the grass, and playing dodgeball. Who could say no to that? Post to comments if you can come help! Let’s help Viv build what we’ve done so well building here, a community dedicated to fitness and wellness; a community bound by both support and accountability.
Also we wanted to formally welcome our recent onslaught of newbies here to CFI! In January Amy, Jason T, Aaron, (No) Mercy, Ali, Chris, Tom, and David joined our little (dys)functional family and we can’t wait to see them in class! Here are some pics of some of our January newbies, so make sure you introduce yourselves to them in class!
Also, tomorrow morning, at 8am, Next Level Invitational opens registration for their final event on April 9th. Set your alarm clocks if you’re looking to register.
WOD 2.11.11
C&J Skill Work
5rds:
20 Double Unders
10 Wallball Shots
10 Push Ups

Muscles!!!! I’m totally down to help out Ruth. My Crossfit Intrepid shirt is clean and pressed for the event.
A big welcome to all the new members! I’ve had the opportunity to work out with some of you and I am totally impressed with how you guys attack everything the trainers throw at us. Great job guys and look forward to meeting everyone.

@Anna, I’m so confused right now. I think my amnesia is kicking in. You’re going to have to go offline and fill me in on what I’m forgetting!
