Bulletproof Coffee

I’ll start off with a brief shout out to all who ran the 5k for education yesterday morning. We had a great showing at the event and all Intrepids ran it in less than 30 minutes. Many of the Intrepids finished in the top 5 in their divisions and Tami finished 3rd in her division! Great job everyone! To check out the results, follow this link.
Now onto the coffee. A little more than a week ago, Nick and I were over at Alia’s place and she introduced us to bulletproof coffee. I’ll give you guys the recipe first:
- Start with 500 ml (2 mugs) of black coffee
- Add 2 Tbsp (or more) of UNSALTED Kerry Gold (grass-fed butter)
- Add 1 Tbsp of coconut oil
- Blend with a pre-heated hand blender, Magic Bullet, or other counter top blender until there is a creamy head of foam
As you can see, your coffee now becomes a great source of fat in the morning. I love the taste of the coffee and by the time I’m finished with a cup I feel kind of full. The best part is, this recipe is Whole30 approved! …okay, no it’s not, April Fools! (Please, forgive my corny attempt at getting an April fools joke in the post) While the recipe is not Whole30 approved, it’s much better than my heavy whipping cream substitute and I’m always looking for extra sources of fat in my diet. For those of you who drink your coffee black, Nick has always drank his coffee black and actually likes the taste of this stuff.
